Skilled Independent visa(Subclass 189)

Skilled Independentvisa is Point based visa which allows you to live and work in Australia as aPermanent Resident. This visa is based on Self points to satisfy the criteriaand there is no sponsorship by the Employer or Family Members; and noNomination by State or Territory Government.

This visa requires prospective applicants to lodge an Expressionof Interest (EOI) with immigration department.

For New Zealand Citizen, Skilled Independent (New ZealandStream) visa introduced by the Government.  New Zealand Citizens residingin Australia during a specific period may be eligible to apply under thisstream, which is definitely subject to meeting certain requirements for thestream.

Minimum Visa requirements at the time of Invitation:

Ø  Must have a relevant occupation.

Ø  Must have positive skill assessment for the occupation.

Ø  Under 45 years of age.

Ø  Must meet minimum pass marks of 60 points.

Ø  Must have competent English as minimum.

Mustbe invited by Immigration to apply the visa.
